The Loma Linda Campus Transformation Project consists of new adult and children’s towers constructed over a shared podium. The 600,000-square-foot adult program includes 336 acute care beds and related support space to serve three intensive care, five med/surg, and one ante and post-partum nursing floor. The children’s program represents 165,000 square feet and includes 96 acute care beds and related support space to serve three med/surg nursing floors. The shared podium includes emergency, diagnostic and treatment, perioperative, administrative, lobby, food service, and dining programs. The project also includes an elevated rooftop trauma helistop and select renovation and retrofit projects within the existing children’s hospital. The Transformation Project was constructed immediately contiguous to a major regional operating trauma medical center and included multiple connections between the new hospital and existing Tower 8. A new facade element was added to Tower 8 to visually tie the new and existing facilities.
