We're welcoming interns into jobsites and office across the country for our 2024 Intern Advantage® program.
McCarthy is proud to welcome 275 interns this summer from 86 different colleges and universities around the country. That total includes 74 returning interns!
Our INTERN ADVANTAGE® program provides career experience for real impact. Interns not only a get head-start toward their career, but hands-on work experience and the kind of industry knowledge that makes a real impact on a future career. The classroom is now a jobsite, and the instructors are some of the best builders in America.
Our interns are treated as true team members from day one, taking on responsibilities that contribute to their teams’ success.
This experience leads to real results. Those results include:
- 84 percent of eligible interns returning to school with a full-time job offer
- 96 percent of interns say they are likely to pursue a full-time career with McCarthy
- Nearly 100 percent saying our internship program prepared them to succeed in the industry
Southern Pacific Region CEO Mike Myers began his career as a McCarthy intern out of Purdue University.
“I think it’s so important that interns get experience not just working at McCarthy, but learning what the industry is really like,” Mike said during a previous interview. “Is this something I really want to do with the rest of my life? Is this a company I could see myself working for and making it a career?
“You get a lot of exposure to that — and it’s something you don’t necessarily learn at school.”
