Emory University Hospital, J-Wing

McCarthy constructed this 450,000-square-foot, nine-story, 230-bed replacement hospital in the heart of Emory University's campus. The hospital features: Patient care units for cancer and transplant (liver, pancreas, and kidney), diagnostic and treatment spaces, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) rooms, general medicine and surgery rooms and operating rooms. 

This complex project also included a two-level pedestrian bridge connecting the new facility to the existing Emory University Hospital, as well as other clinical buildings and a 530-space underground parking structure beneath the new hospital. Extensive utility relocation work was included at the beginning of the project, as well as a renovation of an existing lobby at Clinic A. 

This LEED Silver project is surrounded by active healthcare and higher education facilities and required significant phasing and coordination.
