Reflecting on Construction Inclusion Week 2024 and Looking Ahead
McCarthy remains proud to be one of the founding companies of Construction Inclusion Week, an industry-wide initiative driving positive change and fostering a more inclusive construction environment.
Last week, Oct. 14-18, 2024, McCarthy jobsites and offices across the company celebrated the fourth year of Construction Inclusion Week by engaging with our partners, workforce and communities. As 2024 chair for this national event, we participated in activities centered around the daily themes:
- Commitment and Accountability
- Belonging
- Supplier Diversity
- Workplace Culture
- Community Engagement
McCarthy hosted a variety of educational, networking and engagement events, including:
- Two company-wide, educational webinars featuring internal and external speakers. We explored the power of inclusion, servant leadership, and genuine care in fostering a positive, safe, and productive workplace, along with practical steps for creating belonging.
- Daily toolbox/table talks to encourage discussion among teams and in small groups
- Supplier diversity events in communities across the country to build and enhance relationships
- Community engagement opportunities through volunteering with various organizations for Community Clean-Up Day
- Self-guided educational activities
As we reflect on Construction Inclusion Week 2024, we're committed to celebrating diversity, fostering inclusion, and promoting equity daily in our business and the industry. Together, we are working to create a space where everyone can thrive and succeed without barriers.
