The University of California, Riverside School of Business Building (UCR SOB) is a new $70.9 million, 36,000-square foot addition that provides more space and resources to enhance student success. With the largest undergraduate business program in the UC System, UCR SOB has an impactful role in developing the next generation of future business leaders.
To support increasingly diverse student populations, the School of Business is thoughtfully designed to create an experientially rich and inclusive learning environment that serves as a destination business school. The School of Business Building will be technologically sophisticated and forward looking with an open and responsive design intended to prioritize collaboration for both undergraduate and graduate students.
This new construction complements the existing Anderson Hall and Olmsted Hall buildings, supporting enrollment growth. Spaces planned for the building include Shared Building Resources, Classrooms & Educational Spaces, Student Support Spaces, Academic Offices & Support, Administrative Offices & Support, and Building Support.
Integrating the area's distinct topography, the project will also develop multi-functional outdoor spaces to engage and reinforce indoor-outdoor connections. Priorities will include the use of low water plants, placement of trees for shade and providing layers of texture and seasonal interest that complement UC Riverside’s palette. Its prominent hillside topography and visibility from the freeway provides the potential to create an iconic gateway and strong sense of arrival to the UC Riverside campus.
