Construction at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas spanned multiple projects across the Palms’ facilities, including the full renovation of the existing casino facilities, the addition of casino space, remodeling of the pool deck, renovation of the multi-level dayclub and nightclub and parking garage expansion.
In the existing casino area, McCarthy completed a full renovation of the 78,000-square-foot casino floor, restaurants, cage and reward areas, registration and VIP, restrooms, bars and added 15,000 square feet of new casino and restaurant space. McCarthy used a multi-phased construction sequence to complete all the work while the surrounding casino areas and hotel towers remained in full operation.
McCarthy also remodeled an existing 100,000-square-foot pool deck. The remodel included structural upgrades to the existing facility, a pool deck extension and structural steel for two new restaurants. In addition to the pool deck, McCarthy renovated a 30,000-square-foot, multi-level dayclub and nightclub with a soaring glass door dividing the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The project also included a vertical expansion of the west parking garage. Open for use to the public throughout construction, the project team added two additional floors and 568 spaces to the existing structure.
In total, work on the Palms Casino Resort spanned more than 35 venues. McCarthy partnered with five architects, 13 interior designers and consultants and worked closely with the casino operations staff to ensure visitor safety and minimize disruptions to the day-to-day operations of the resort.
