McCarthy's Healthcare construction team completed this 43,077-square foot emergency services and acute care unit addition to the UCLA Medical Center. The new emergency services unit includes 41 exam rooms, 7 bays, registration and waiting areas, support services, two imaging rooms and a STAT lab. The acute care unit includes 15 isolation rooms that have the ability to expand to 30 patient beds if a catastrophic event was ever to occur, and support services.

Construction of the two new buildings also included connecting corridors, mechanical and electrical rooms and entrance canopies. The project was completed three months ahead of schedule.
