McCarthy Building Companies Constructs Illinois Largest Solar Project

The largest solar project in Illinois, Swift Current’s 800-megawatt, $535 million Double Black Diamond solar farm, is under construction in Sangamon and Morgan counties. McCarthy, serving as the EPC contractor on the project, evaluated the site, participated in the design and engineering of the Double Black Diamond project, evaluated its feasibility and is building the project which will be partially powering O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport; Loyola University; State Farm; and PPG Industries.
