Joe Brunsman

As the business unit leader for McCarthy’s Denver office, Joe Brunsman leads the strategic direction of the company’s Colorado operations. Joe brings over 35 years of industry experience across market sectors, including significant expertise in aviation, water/wastewater and healthcare construction., which along with solar and higher education, are key focus areas for McCarthy in Colorado. He is one of McCarthy’s most experienced leaders of large, self-perform civil and concrete construction projects, working closely with owners, design teams and trade partners to deliver outstanding quality while meeting complex schedules and budgets.

Joe began his construction career as an apprentice carpenter and has served at McCarthy as a project manager, director, estimator, preconstruction lead, business development manager and business unit leader. He has a bachelor's degree in construction management from Arizona State University and holds LEED AP BD+C accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council. He is an active member of the Water Collaborative Delivery Council and the DBIA RMR W/WW Committee, and is active in his community through coaching sports, serving as a Scout Committee Chairman, as well as active local involvement. This includes McCarthy’s Heart Hats community outreach program, which is dedicated to ensuring real community needs are being met through hands-on activities and financial support to a variety of nonprofit causes.
