Healthcare Supply is met with Hefty Demand
Heartland Real Estate Business
Several factors are driving demand for healthcare real estate development today: an aging population, expansion of outpatient procedures, demand for more rural facilities, and the need for technology or facility upgrades.
Since the Midwest has a larger supply of available land than other areas of the country, the region is perfectly suited to meet this increased demand for new healthcare facilities, says Kris Montgomery, Omaha Market Leader with McCarthy Building Cos. The firm is currently underway on a number of projects in America’s heartland, including a new 14-story facility for SSM Health’s Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis and the $33 million Kearney Cancer Center for Nebraska Medicine.
